Garden Design & Installation
Our Design Process
We start with an initial consult and site visit to gain an understanding of your project goals and familiarize ourselves with the space. Once measurements are taken, we will create a scale drawing of the site along with a proposed plant list and garden design proposal outlining the project goals, scope, and cost.
Some of our specialties include but are not limited to:
English Cottage Gardens
Cottage gardens consist of perennial beds with many flowers and paths. These gardens are full of texture and color and have less space for grass. Herbs and veggies are often incorporated into this style of garden. These gardens are beneficial for reducing weeds.
Pollinator Gardens
These gardens use a combination of native and ornamental plants that attract desirable birds, butterflies, bees, insects, and other wildlife. People with properties near wild areas, streams, or greenbelts have a particular opportunity to enhance and restore habitat. A suburban or urban home can easily invite beneficial wildlife with carefully considered plantings.
Pacific Northwest Native Gardens
Native gardens require less water after the initial 2-3 years and showcase the beautiful plants of the Puget Sound Region. They are great for enhancing and restoring the quality of our watersheds and go hand in hand with bird and wildlife gardens. Sword fern, red osier dogwood, trillium, Oregon grape, and evergreen huckleberry are just a few examples of our native plants.
Low Maintenance and Drought Tolerant Gardens
Save water and energy with a drought tolerant garden. Many native plants and non native perennials are drought tolerant for gardens with full sun or shade. We can set up soaker hoses and apply a thick layer of mulch to help keep your garden moist and save you energy while it’s becoming established.
Edible Landscapes
Vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees can be very striking and beautiful plants, and there’s nothing better than picking breakfast right outside your door. Whether you prefer your food crops mixed among perennials or in their own special space, we can help you create a bountiful harvest.
Pet and/or Kid Friendly Gardens
We create gardens that are safe and enjoyable for both pets and children. By using non-toxic plants and integrating natural play elements like logs and stone, we provide a secure environment for pets to explore. For children, we select hardy plants and design veggie or sensory gardens that stimulate their senses and curiosity.
